Have any travel plans for Spring Break next week? If Coronavirus hasn't cancelled your travel plans quite yet and you're headed to the happy island of Aruba you have to stop at Eduardo's. They advertise as "Aruba's best smoothie bar" and fat foodies agree! They serve healthy vacation options like smoothies and bowls with fresh fruit, vegetables, juices, superfoods and granola. They also serve lunch items like tacos and grain bowls. Their food is colorful and delicious, and the staff are so incredibly friendly, you're going to want to stop by a few times a day to try everything on the menu. Pictured above is the new Poseidon Bowl, which includes blue spirulina, pineapple, spinach, granola, blueberries, strawberries, almonds, goji berries, and is sprinkled with chia seeds and shredded coconut. 😍😋🙌

Eduardo's Beach Shack truly belongs on the beach, it's located on the boardwalk in the middle of the line of hotels along the sand. The decor is perfect and despite being in a hard to miss location, it still makes you feel like you found a hidden gem on the island.

Tasty Burger

Tasty Burger - Fenway

This past Monday was 52 degrees and it felt like opening day at Fenway, but it wasn't, so this fat foodie went to Tasty Burger to make up for it. Being in the Fenway area feels like Boston. Tasty Burger's location is perfect when attending a Red Sox game, after a yoga sculpt class at CorePower across the street, or just stopping for a bite while exploring this area of the city. When the weather gets warmer the pick-up window is perfect to enjoy your food out in the sunshine!

Inside the restaurant is feels like a sports themed diner, filled with Red Sox memorabilia, solidifying its place as the official burger of the Boston Red Sox. It's small but feels spacious from the garage-door-window-walls that let in plenty of sunshine. You can even play a round of pool while you wait for your food.

The menu at Tasty Burger is filled with mouth-watering burgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. I ordered 'The Big Tasty,' which is a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and Tasty sauce. I also added bacon and went for the combo with tater tots. Customizing orders is not a problem, and the staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. PSA: Tasty Burger offers a student discount meal called the "Starvin Student" for only $10 which includes a burger, fries, and your choice of beer: Miller High Life, PBR, or Narragansett.

City Tap

City Tap House Boston

Last weekend this fattie visited City Tap House in Boston's Fort Point for brunch and it did not disappoint. Once you walk in the door you feel comfortable and cozy from the cold, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. They have a wide variety of sweet and savory meals, all with insane creative flair. They take pride in only using locally sourced ingredients, which is clear based on the freshness and color on each plate served. Pictured above is the Strawberry Sundae Waffle - a perfectly fluffy waffle topped with strawberry compote, chocolate sauce, vanilla gelato, pecan crumble, and whipped cream ($12.75). HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you're stressing about Midterms next week and need a treat. Other amazing brunch dishes are the Pork & Sweet Potato Hash Skillet, the Chicken & Waffles, and The G.O.A.T. pizza. About Us

Five Fat Foodies is a social media platform that aims to bring UMass students off campus to enjoy different dining options around the city of Boston. We plan to showcase different restaurants and cuisines that satisfy all appetites, and wallets, for the average college student. We will show students who want more than the dining options on campus how to get to each restaurant, the price points for each stop, and delicious meals they can enjoy. We plan to collaborate with restaurants that offer student discounts and hopefully encourage more dining establishments in the area to offer their own. Part of our posting mission is to encourage students to comment on their own experiences and reviews in addition to ours, to establish a connection between our followers and Five Fat Foodies. We also want to encourage student communities and teams at UMass to leave campus and build relationships over the unique cuisine our city has to offer. Foodies hopes to encourage sports teams, campus groups, and all students to meet outside of school and create stronger connections while enjoying good food. Overall, our goal is to broaden the culinary horizon for the University of Massachusetts Boston Students.
